Neutral organic milk now at Walmart!

We’re excited to announce that Neutral is now available at nearly 200 Walmart stores throughout California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Now Walmart shoppers can help fight climate change simply by choosing Neutral for their breakfast cereal. (Or coffee. Or birthday cake.)

As part of Walmart's environmental initiative, Project Gigaton, which aims to reduce one gigaton (1 billion metric tons) of greenhouse gas emissions from its supply chain by 2030, they’re offering Neutral organic and pasture-raised whole and 2% milk. The timing coincides with Neutral’s recent rollout of our updated packaging that tells the story of our work with farmers and what it means to be carbon neutral from “grass to glass.” Every carton of Neutral milk sold supports farmers with the funds to implement on-farm projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These climate-smart practices include feed supplements that lower enteric methane levels, pasture improvements, and manure management projects.

“Walmart’s commitment to sustainability is a mission we’re proud to be a part of,” says Marcus Lovell Smith, CEO, Neutral Foods. “Walmart is a leader in developing environmental initiatives from sustainable sourcing to waste reduction and educating its communities.”

According to a recent YouGov* omnibus survey commissioned by Neutral, one in two U.S. adults (50%) say protecting the planet matters to them, and they buy products from companies that take steps to reduce impact or harm to the environment. Purchasing carbon neutral products such as Neutral milk can significantly contribute to lowering your carbon footprint. One gallon of whole milk produced in the Neutral supply shed would normally have a carbon footprint equivalent to a 24-mile drive in a car. With Neutral’s approach to carbon reduction, the same gallon of whole milk has a carbon footprint of 0.

*All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc.  The total sample size was 1143 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between 27th-28th November 2023.  The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all US adults (aged 18+).
