Spring Turnout

Every year in colder climates, pasture-raised dairy cows (like the ones that produce our amazing organic milk!) get excited for Spring Turnout. “What’s that?” you say? Well, when the winter snows come and the grass stops growing, the cows are cared for inside where they can stay warm and dry, and they chow down on high-quality feed and hay. When the spring grass is growing again and the weather warms up, the girls are eager to start spending more of their time soaking up the sunshine on beautiful green pastures.

Organic standards require cows be able to roam and graze whenever weather conditions allow, and for our organic farms this is about 200 days a year. We love seeing these happy ladies from a few of our farms frolicking and playing in the fields before they get down to munching on all that fresh green grass.

Hooray for Spring Turnout!
