Neutral and FarmRaise Partner to Support Farmers and Decarbonize Dairy

Neutral is is on a mission to reduce emissions.

We know that 72% of greenhouse gas emissions from dairy production occurs on farm. That’s why we’re focusing our efforts there, working directly with dairy farmers to transition to climate smart agricultural practices.

We also know that every farmer and farm is unique. Depending on each farmer’s goals and the unique characteristics of their operation, we focus on interventions that have the greatest potential to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.

In the past, we’ve struggled to balance our desire to implement carbon reduction solutions quickly and at scale with the need to tailor each solution to the needs of each farm. That’s why we were delighted when we discovered that a like-minded startup called FarmRaise had already built a platform that connected more than 15,000 farmers to conservation funding.

We immediately recognized their platform as a powerful vehicle to reach a large population of motivated producers seeking funding to realize their conservation goals that align with our own climate goals. Further, our conversations with FarmRaise COO, Sami Tellatin, helped us quickly formulate a plan to collaborate.

“We at FarmRaise are thrilled to be able to share Neutral’s mission and financial support with the farmers in our network. This opportunity enables us to surface new and innovative financial incentives to farmers who need support transitioning to climate-smart agriculture practices. We look forward to engaging our farming community in this opportunity and empowering eligible farmers to apply.” - Sami Tellatin, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder

Beginning on November 2, 2022, dairy farmers in the Pacific Northwest visiting FarmRaise’s website will be able to create a free profile and connect with available sources of state and federal funding AND for the first time also leverage funds from Neutral to mitigate the largest sources of on-dairy farm greenhouse gas emissions: enteric methane and greenhouse gas emissions associated with manure management.

We’re targeting farms in our supply shed in order to have a direct sustainability benefit on the regions we source from. FarmRaise will help us quickly engage farmers who are willing to do the hard work but need additional funds, expertise, or advisory services to transition to climate smart practices.

We’re huge fans of the work that Sami and others at the FarmRaise team are doing, and excited that this partnership will help us radically reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions by providing more financial access and advisory services to conservation-driven dairy farmers. Stay tuned for more stories from the farm that we’ll share as we go.
